Welcome to 2011 with Chronolabs. 2010 was an eventful year, we ended up struggling with the data tarriffs required to host modules for a basis of financial costs. In the year 2010 we also transfered services and domain, we migrated from chronolabs.org.au to the proper domain for this class of business chronolabs.coop. As a co-op we have had a struggle finding people interested in becoming financial or systems members.

Some of the roles we would like to fill in 2011 are someone to hone drupal and someone to hone joomla, Simon will be sticking with XOOPS. We would like to migrate the XOOPS Modules over to Joomla and Drupal as well. If you are interested in developing with chronolabs co-op as a member for a financial token you need an australian taxfile number for a directorship or official role, however there is nothing stopping you getting involved in the international playground.

Simon Roberts is suffering from an extremely painful typing injury which means there have been long periods of stagnate development of the business titles or feed to the business; approximately 3 months was lost to the sofa in the initial stages of the typing injury. A number of times Simon has re-injured himself, he needs to get more physical activity away from the keyboard and mouse, it is say that even lying down hurts, moving, walking, drinking a coffee it all hurts with this ligament inflammation in the torso of the body.

Financial Report

We have some fund coming in approximately $2200 USD from USA, $5600 from european countries and some smaller scripting jobs totaling approximately $200. most of these funds where use in building the business and paying internet fees and service charges. There was no profit from the income. We still have a $340 USD Refund when the funds are here to Jim robinson which will be paid sometime in the early new year.

Well 2010 was an eventful year for chronolabs. Not only did we over the 2009 - 2010 period of the financial year introduce several new titles to our maintained GPL software archives. But we have undergone several other changes as well.

The first change was our hosting and domain abstraction. We official have now moved to www.chronolabs.coop - Chronolabs being an Australian Co-operative was orginally being hosted on the .org.au TLD as australian domain levels don't have a coop domain.

So with some help from a US Citizen we registered the coop domain for chronolabs. This was orginally only available for US business but with communication with the domain registrar we managed to obtain a .coop for the business. This means we are looking at the hefty fee of 200 USD every 2 years to renew but for the effect of people struggling over the phone with the .coop extension not being known about it makes it worth it as it make the staff here at chronolabs recognisably owning part of the business as a staff member does with a co-op.

We are going to be spending 2010 - 2011 financial year building the business. We have a couple of new staff members one of which is Andrew Bruin who is our Joomla Specialist, when he kicks of this year he will be cloning the J Series of our titles for Joomla. This include Jortify which will be a protector/xortifty clone for Joomla so there is a protection point on Joomlas Runtime. He was approached as well as David Balnaves for a CEO position and member of the board of directors here at chronolabs. We have still yet to add them to books with the ATO, still waiting on their Taxfile numbers.

2009 was an eventful year we had over 300 Gb of XOOPS modules downloaded. The server have been relocated to an off short service provider who has resellers in australia called www.servage.net.

We where worried about how much cpanel we where seeing and looked for a customised solution for hosting. You know when you see to much of something and seen people with experiences of over rated service running cpanel - well servage offers a simple web 2.0 system they have written themselves. It isn't just for small fry.

2009 was an eventful year, the owner of this website Simon Roberts was married to Elpiniki Iosif in may 09. Which meant there was an unproductive time of development.

There aren't very many fiscals to report, a donation of 20 USD was paid by one of our clients and a few t-shirts where also donated.

Simon was promoted to XOOPS Developer on www.xoops.org and has been maintaining the code with the 2.4 series of xoops, his role included expanding the options in the object class to support International Domain Names and multiplex language flat file system for future expansion of PDO and other features in xoops.

Some documentation was expanded in the wiki and there where a couple of acquisitions of website domains. The domain registrar operating on this ABN is turning over approximately 60 AUD per month which is used for extending the registration of domains we own.
